On Saturday, May 13th we’ll be teaming up with our friends and fellow AAPI perfumers, YOSH and PERSEPHENIE for three unforgettable scent experiences. In honor of SCENTWEEK, Mother’s Day and AAPI Month (Asian American and Pacific Islander Month), Yosh and Persephenie will be at our Chinatown studio for a very full day exploring the art of fragrance.

During the two hour immersive experience, attendees will begin with an aura reading by Yosh, followed by the creation of a special fragrance with our perfumer Linda Sivrican based on notes from the aura reading. Attendees will handcraft their own incense booklet with Persephenie and scent it with their personalized fragrance. To complement the small Japanese-inspired incense booklet, attendees will also create a simple origami slipcase, with the option to add a haiku, art, or meaningful symbols.

HOT SPOT AURA READING w/ Yosh Han

Meet clairvoyant Yosh Han for short one-to-one aura readings. Each person has a physical and spiritual body and the space between is your aura. Each person's aura reflects different colors, textures and spiritual information. During Hot Spot readings, Yosh will offer insights on how your energy is flowing and what is currently bubbling up for you. She will pair fragrance notes that amplify your aura.

About Yosh

Yosh Han is the founder YOSH olfactory sense. She is a perfumer and clairvoyant. She has judged competitions for the Institute for Art and Olfaction awards and the International Chocolate Salon. She is currently a Creative in Residence at The Battery in San Francisco. She received her training through Aesclepion Healing Institute.

Currently, she is the Creative Director of Scent Trunk, a perfume publishing company, that produces Original Editions with independent perfumers. She is also the producer of Scent Festival, a platform focused on Intersectionality and Perfumery and Decolonizing Scent.

SCENT-MAKING w/ Linda Sivrican

Guests are invited to peruse through a vast library of more than 200 exquisite and rare essential oils and will select materials that can be incorporated into their unique fragrance. Linda will guide you in creating a personalized fragrance with insights from the aura reading, using a curated selection of premium materials and your choice of essential oils. You will take home a 5ml glass roll-on of your fragrance.

About Linda

Linda Sivrican is co-founder and perfumer at Capsule Parfumerie. She leads workshops on scent-making and specializes in handcrafted perfumes, where she is frequently lauded by top publications for her nuanced creations and fragrance expertise. She is also a winner of the Art and Olfaction, 2020 - Artisan category for her creation Nimbis from her Parallax Olfactory brand.

INCENSE BOOK & SLIP CASE w/ Persephenie

Learn how to craft an incense booklet and slip cover using paper folding techniques and perfume. Guests will scent prepared incense paper which they will fold and stitch into a small Japanese inspired book. 

To complement your incense booklet, you’ll also create a simple origami slipcase, with the option to add a haiku, art, or meaningful symbols. 

About Persephenie

Persephenie is a creative with interests in art, design, and the olfactory. 

She specializes in perfumery and incense, and in her early 20’s worked in a book bindery where she learned the art of book making, which included some fun non-adhesive, Japanese inspired bookbinding.

Where: 441 Gin Ling Way, Los Angeles, CA 90012 in Chinatown Central Plaza (next to Blossom Restaurant in the former in Gin Ling Gifts shop). There is metered street parking and several parking lots on Broadway, Hill, and College.
